Ive been playing around with dslr camera trapping (DCT) for several months now and im really pleased with the results, ive learnt so much from trail and error so ill be updating the blog with useful posts that i hope will help other trappers.
Most trappers use plastic freezer bags , ive found they work great (especially the thicker Bacofoil ones) with an elastic band keeping them from flapping about. Depending on where your setting them up you have to consider there visibility, not to wildlife but catching the eye of a potential thief during the day, also you cannot lock your flash to a tree very easily. Ive had my flashes in plastic bags at -7DegC in 50mph winds and was quite surprised how dry they were, but its the moisture that builds up inside due to temperature changes that will eventually damage your flashes due to corrosion.

I decided to make my flashes watertight, lockable and easy to adjust. All my boxes have been setup for remote triggering using the Camtraptions triggers and receivers (the boxes are easy to convert to fully wired) with the camera triggered with the Camtraptions PIR Motion Sensor.

What a great article, I'm new to DCT & have been making do with plastic bags & have been looking for an alternative method of weather proofing! This is now on my list but I'm still investigating the possibility of a 4" waste pipe system!
